หมายถึงกำลังเกิดเหตุการณ์อะไรอยู่แล้วมีเหตุการณ์อื่นเข้ามาแทรกโดยที่Past Continuous เป็นเหตุการณ์ที่กำลังเกิด และPast Simple เป็นเหตุการณ์ที่เข้ามาแทรกตัวอย่างI was eating my cake then I saw Phan.ฉันกำลังกินเค้กของฉันอยู่ แล้วฉันก็เห็นแป้น(I was eating my cake เป็น past continuous และ I saw Phan เป็นpast simple)
I was taking a shower then Malee came in.ฉันกำลังอาบน้ำอยู่ แล้วมาลีก็โผล่มา(I was taking a shower เป็น past continuous และ Malee came in เป็นpast simple)
While I was mopping the floor, I found the ring.ในขณะที่ฉันถูพื้นอยู่ ฉันก็เจอแหวน(While I was mopping the floor เป็น past continuous และ I found the ring เป็นpast simple)
